As of 9 October 1925,her married name was Siratt.2 She married Henry Clay Siratt on 9 October 1925 at Saline County, Arkansas.2 She married Elda Smith on 16 November 1940. Rose died on 10 September 1966 at Little Rock, Pulaski County, Arkansas, at age 67. Newspaper Obituary: Mrs. Rose Othelia Smith, aged 67, of Route 1, widow of Elda Smith, died Saturday. Survivors are a daughter, Mrs. Rose Marie Larch of Mabelvale; two sons, Carl Ray Sr. and R. L. (Pete) Ray of Little Rock; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Christine Holland of Conway; two stepsons, Haley Smith of Oklahoma City and Thomas O. Smith of Camdem; two foster daughters, Mrs. Janice Seay of Benton and Mrs. Sharon Brinsfield of Springdale; a foster son, Gene Farmer of the Army; two brothers, Lewis Graves and Noah Graves of Ferndale; four sisters, Mrs. Lula Ray of Ferndale and Mrs. Vanie Sillern, Mrs. Let Perryman and Mrs. Lovie Cook of Little Rock, 21 grandchildren and 17 greatgrandchildren. Funeral arrangements will be announced by Griffin-Leggett. ---- Funeral for Mrs. Rose Othelia Graves Smith, aged 67, of Route 1, who died Saturday, will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Pleasant Hill Church by Rev. Glen Motley. Pallbearers will be Floyd Fant, Carl Ray Jr., Robert Ray, Thomas Morrow, David Weise and Joe Tipton. Burial will be at Pleasant Hill Cemetery by Griffin-Leggett.. Her body was interred in 1966 at Pleasant Hill, Alexander, Saline County, Arkansas, at Pleasant Hill.3

James registered to pay taxes at Saline County, Arkansas, in 1890. Pleasant Hill (Beaver Township) School District #10: Graves, James. M... He applied for homestead land at Saline County, Arkansas, on 4 August 1894. According to land records at the National Archives James settled in Tatumville, Saline County, Arkansas, W1/2 of SE Section 8 Township 1N Range 15W on 80 acres. The land is described as "timber, hilly, and rough farming". He said that he settled on the land in December of 1894 and had built a 16x16 log house, 30x26 log barn, smoke house, hen house, and corn crib. James also planted an orchard of 100 trees and had about 14 acres under cultivation producing a crop every year. His application No.20205 filed at the land office at Little Rock, Arkansas under Section 2289, Revised Statutes of the United States, was completed and approved June 15, 1901 and James' Homestead Certificate No.10055 was signed by President Theodore Roosevelt on January 17, 1902.. James testified for William Alexander Ray on his homestead application at Saline County, Arkansas, on 17 November 1897. James was listed as the head of a family on the 1900 Census at Saline County, Arkansas. He owned land around Ferndale, Saline County, Arkansas where he operated his business and farm. All of his children were born there. This land was split up among his children upon his death. William was born on 29 September 1862 at Little Rock, Pulaski County, Arkansas. He was the son of Alexander Ray and Amanda Moore. He married Adeline "Addie" Smith at Saline County, Arkansas, on 14 February 1886. Ray, W.A. of Bland, Saline Co., AR age 23 and Smith, Adeline of Tatumville, Saline Co., AR age 18 married on 14 Feb 1886 by Wilson, J.B., JP bondman Grimmett, J.L. p. 105.
