She married James Silas Kirby on 10 October 1895 at Johnson County, Arkansas. Rosa died on 13 June 1962 at Little Rock, Pulaski County, Arkansas, at age 84. Her body was interred in June 1962 at Forest Hills Cemetery, Little Rock, Pulaski County, Arkansas, at Forest Hills Cemetery.2

     Excerpt from Edith Boyer Scruggs "The House of Boyer": "William came to Johnson County, Arkansas sometime in the late 1830's along with his sisters and possibly with his parents. He took a land grant in 1839. In 1846 he enlisted to fight in the Mexican War with Company A, Battalion of Arkansas Volunteers under Captain P.B. Collins With his Honorable Discharge in 1847, at Fort Gibson, Cherokee Nation, he received 165 acres of bounty land located in Horsehead Township, Johnson County, Arkansas. In February 1862 he volunteered to fight in Company F, 10th Regiment, Arkansas Militia, of the Confederate States Army. Then again in October 1863 he enlisted in Company L, Hill's 7th Regiment, Arkansas Cavalry, of the Confederate States Army. In August of 1864 he was warned by neighbors that his farm was about to be robbed by bushwhackers. Other neighbors had been tortured. They hurriedly loaded a wagon and started for Little Rock, Arkansas, 112 miles away. Their home was burned behind them. He joined the Union Army on August 20, 1864. He was in Company I, 2nd Arkansas Infantry, United States Army. His wife and children were sent to Winona County, Minnesota by way of the Arkansas and Mississippi Rivers for the duration of the war. Mary returned to Johnson County, Arkansas around 1868 and rebuilt her home in the same location. He was transferred to Clarksville, Arkansas to serve in the Medical Corps at the Post Isolation (smallpox) Hospital. It was while nursing Federal soldiers there that he contracted smallpox and died." William H. Boyer, age 46 born Humphries Co., TN, enlisted in Company A, 4th Arkansas Infantry, United States Army as a Private at Clarksville, Arkansas on March 28, 1864. He moved after 1830. He married Mary Cooper at Spadra, Johnson County, AR, on 4 March 1841. William served in the military at Clarksville, Arkansas, on 10 June 1846. Henry Boyer1 (M)

     He lived in Tennessee in 1800, according to an affidavit he signed when he asked for bounty land for his military service. He stated that he was mustered in the Tennessee Volunteers in Sumner County and received his discharge at Knoxville. However, records show that he did not receive any land as the said Army was not officially connected to the U.S. Army. Roane County, Tennessee 1830 Census showed 6 children living at home. Henry was born in 1775 at Pennsylvania. He married Mary Gambell at Sumner County, Tennessee, on 2 January 1808. Henry was listed as the head of a family on the 1830 Census at Roane County, Tennessee. He moved after 1830. Henry died on 17 August 1861 at Johnson Co., AR.
